Hassness Country House is a delightful house that exudes the charm of the inter-war period when it was built, giving it a real art-deco feeling. The house has been operated for guided walking holidays by RWH Travel Ltd. (incl. Ramblers Walking Holidays) since 1955, so we know the place well and love it all the more. As a company, we have been operating guided walking holidays around the world since 1946 and have built up a huge amount of knowledge and expertise as you would expect. Come walking with us, we know the best places to take you in the Lakes and the best ways to walk there too. Hassness House has been awarded both the Cyclists and Walkers Accepted Awards by Quality Cumbria.
Hassness is situated in the remote and completely unspoilt Buttermere valley, occupying a unique position on the water’s edge and providing guests with a genuine opportunity to “get away from it all” and enjoy the tranquility of the location.
Your hosts here are Brian, Carole & Ruby, all of whom will be delighted to give you a very special break and Lake District experience. Occasionally you may see them accompanied by their dogs Alfie and Dylan, but these two are not officially employed to look after you even though they might try!
